Hindu/Muslim Conflict

Tension between Hindus and Muslims from India and Pakistan is growing. The states of India and Pakistan have attacked the treatment of each other’s minority communities, and they have a territorial dispute over Kashmir. This regional dispute has become international, with diaspora communities fighting each other, as happened in September 2022 in Leicester following a cricket match between India and Pakistan. This programme seeks to place the events in Leicester in a broader, historical context and examine the historical causes of conflict between Hindus and Muslims from India and Pakistan.
