I have always been interested in History, and how an education in History prepares us for current debates by developing skills in analytical and critical thinking, as well as making us more empathetic, for figures in the past as well as contemporaries. I studied History at the University of Birmingham where I am also currently working on a part time MA in History.
I have worked in relationship development, communications and fundraising for several organisations in varying fields, including Modern Slavery. It has been roles working with young people, and helping them gain access to opportunities and to develop their characters that I have found most rewarding.
My work for Parallel Histories allows me to unite my passions for History and for seeing young people grow and develop into caring and thoughtful young people who believe they can achieve whatever they set out to.
